Gatwick closer to relaxing hand baggage rule

Gatwick airport has moved a step closer to relaxing the one hand baggage restrictions, but this is still limited to connecting flights. The one bag rule still remains in force for all other flights.

The airport will now allow people to travel with more than one piece of hand luggage on connection flights through both the North & South Terminal, subject to individual airline rules.

The airport said in a statement : This rule for all flights will be relaxed in the near future when the ongoing construction project to upgrade and expend the security facilities at the airport is completed. The government deadline for all UK airports to be ready to relax single bag restrictions is 31st May.
