

October 2007 figures released by BAA show an increase in passenger numbers compared with October 2006.
BAA’s seven UK airports handled 13.2 million passengers - an increase of 3.5% on last October.
Long haul traffic saw a large increase, particularly in the North Atlantic traffic which increased by 8.9%. However, figures for UK domestic traffic decreased by 2.4%.
The highest percentage increase seen at BAA’s English airports was Southampton airport which saw a rise of 5.7%. Heathrow numbers were up by 3.8%, Gatwick increased by 4.9% and Stansted a rise of 1.8%.
Of BAA’s Scottish airports, Aberdeen airport passenger numbers continued to grow with an increase of 6.6%, Edinburgh airport saw a rise of 5% with a 1.8% dip in numbers at Glasgow airport.
