Gatwick Airport evacuated over WWII smoke-shell discovery

Part of Gatwick Airport had to be evacuated when three unexploded Second World War smoke-shells were discovered.

A passenger jet also had to be moved while bomb disposal experts dealt with the devices.

The shells were found during excavation work.
