Skylane Hotel Gatwick

Accommodation and parking at the Skylane hotel

Booked a 1 night stay and 8 days car parking here in Gatwick Feb. 07.
Wanted somewhere close to Gatwick and not too costly. Some other places were not available. Had not stayed near Gatwick before.
Only read the reviews on this site after booking. Was horrified at some ...they caused a lot of worry and made one consider cancelling. What would the wife say if it were that bad?
Arrived around 10pm..parked within 20 yards of front entrance. 2 male staff on duty. Asked if we wanted smoking or non smoking room. They explained that only 1 mini-bus would be operating in the morning so they phoned and booked a taxi for us for 8.00am. The hotel paid for this.
We needed no help with our luggage.
Room basic but clean..coffee maker. Everything in the bathroom worked. lots of hot water. Mattress did not keep us awake. We did not book breakfast as we planned to fill up the long wait at Gatwick with breakfast there, so cannot comment on food, service or lack of it.
Early morning call dead on time and taxi waiting for us and 1 other couple at 07.58am. Outside noticed some people in the hotel minibus.
About 10 minutes to South Terminal. The others were taken on to the North
As we checked the info given for our return and found the pick-up point the hotel minibus was arriving.
On our return at 7.30pm we rang the free number.....prompt answer, girl knew who we were, said minibus was already on it
